Pet of the Week

Posted by Big Rat on Campus on Oct 23, 2014 in Rat Answers | Subscribe

Sylvester is a young male domestic white and black rat. Sylvester is sweet, smart, friendly, social, and active—as well as entertaining! Rats, like Sylvester make great pets! Rats have been called “the lower maintenance dog “in the pet world! Full grown male rats can weigh 1 to 1 1/2 pounds and can grow to be 14-18 inches, including tail and can live to be 2-3 years old.

Fun Fact:

Did you know that when rats are very content, they grind their teeth!

Rats can use a litter box and are generally cleaner than other pet rodents.

Rats are performers!  They love to show off for their family.

If you would like to help our wonderful friends while they are waiting to be adopted, the Coulee Region Humane Society is always looking for donations. These donations go a long way in making the stay more comfortable for our animal guests.
