Saturday

Come Fall for Rats: A fancy rat show sponsored by the RatsPacNW Rat Fanciers Club, will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Cloverleaf Building at Washington County Fairgrounds, 873 N.E. 34th Ave. in Hillsboro. The event will feature a standards and pet class show, including contests for best costume, longest tail and “kissiest” rat. Other highlights include presentations on rodent health and care; rat games and toys; and pet ratsa available for adoption or purchase. Shop and adopt event: Meet adoptable pets from the Oregon Humane Society, noon-3 p.m. Saturday at Furever Pets, 1902 N.E. Broadway in Portland. Details: oregonhumane.org.

Town Storage Open Studio Night: Meet adoptable pets from Oregon Humane Society while viewing works from local artists and enjoying live music and hors d’ oeuvres, 6-10 p.m. Saturday at 17 S.E. Third Ave., Portland. Details: oregonhumane.org.

Animal communication readings: Animal communicator Ute Luppertz will conduct readings during the Body-Mind-Spirit Expo on Saturday and Sunday, as well as present a lecture on spirit animal communication, noon-1 p.m. Sunday at the Oregon Convention Center (Hall A), 7777 N.E. Animal Aid outreach: Meet homeless pets from Animal Aid at this outreach event, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Western Pet Supply, 6908 S.W. Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy. in Portland. Details: animalaidpdx.org.

PAW Team Clinic: Portland Animal Welfare Team will offer its monthly clinic Sunday, beginning with an eligibility check and medical screening at 8 a.m. (last ticket will be handed out at 9:30 a.m.) at 2700 N.W. Front Ave., Building J. The nonprofit also seeks volunteers to help with Sunday’s clinic; check website for times of volunteer shifts.
