Three conmen who used two pet rats to convince a man in his 70s he had a pest issue – then charged £17,350 to “remove” them – have been jailed.

Michael Black, 46, Richard Cooper, 20, and Robert Cooper, 32, also told Martin Hill he could be evicted from his home in Fordingbridge, Hants.

The three, of Fordingbridge and Salisbury, Wilts, admitted fraud at Southampton crown court. They were given three, two and three-and-a-half years.
