It’s a big week for the Humane Society of St. Joseph County as they are hosting their biggest pet adoption event starting Friday.

During this time the adoption center will be open for extend hours. Those times are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The goal is to find all of their adoptable animals a home.

Right now, they are providing care to 400 cats, 100 dogs, 13 rabbits, two rats, 4 hamsters and a cockatiel.

In addition to extended hours, they have reduced their adoption fees by 100 dollars. All dogs are $100, older dogs are $50 and cats are free. All animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped.

If you don’t plan on adopting any pets you can still attend this event. They will several events all week long including a garage sale this Friday, Saturday and Sunday and also next Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Tuesday, June 3rd: Hacienda Gives Back Day! Take a Humane Society Gives Back Token to the Grape Rd. Hacienda to earn 15% back for the animals!

Wednesday, June 4th: Five Guys Gives Back Day! Eat at either Eddy Street Commons or UP Mall Five Guys for up to 25% of your purchase to go back to the Humane Society!

Thursday, June 5th: Chico’s Gives Back shopping day! The shelter will receive back 10% of your shopping purchases at the Granger Chico’s on this day!

Saturday, June 8th: Coloring Contest winners announced and awards presented at 10:00am
