Here's my little baby Daisy! She's not so little anymore though.  I think Ophie is the mom , but they were rescue rats and they didn't have their info. Oh well , i wouldn't care WHERE I got them or If I had their info , cuz i LOVE em with all my heart!  |

Little Bean is SOOOO cute! What's that heart-shaped thing-- is that one of those things for a chin dust bath?? (Of course I'm always eyeing stuff like that!)
Pablo is about 2 right now. Thank you-- he is pretty adorable and a big squishy (and mommy can't really talk....). Sad story, actually, how I got him-- him and a brother were bought at a pet store that made sure people understood that there was a difference between the feeders and the pets-- it appeared that they tried, and their conditions weren't AS BAD AS other pet stores, but still not what one of us rat lovers would like. Anyway, the people who bought them had never had rats before-- and they loved them. I guess the rats had showed some respiratory issues, so they went back to the store and got what was recommended (you know-- the tetracycline for birds that you put in water-- that I think many of us got before we found a really good rat vet??). But, Pablo's brother died. So the lady wanted to take the body out, and put food in an opposite corner of the cage to get Pablo out of the way and grab the body-- but Pablo took the food and immediately brought it to the body and was stuffing it in his brother's mouth! Poor boy. Then he started biting-- and once he bit the daughter, the mother was ready to give him back to the pet store, where they said they'd use him as a breeder. I took him. He never bit me. I had him neutered almost immediately (had an unspayed female). He was a very shy boy up until a few months ago, but very curious (tugging on my sleeve when I'd be spot cleaning the cage then darting away as soon as I went to pet him) but now he just jumps right into my lap and climbs in and out of my shirt when I'm visiting the rat room-- quite the love bug! He's now got a brother, Diego, and 6 sisters. And yummy food and treats. LOL actually its a candy dish. I got it on clearance at Kmart for 79 cents! They will outgrow it eventually but even ten ill use it to hide treats |
