For two days, Balloon Fiesta Park went to the dogs. And cats.

“Fetch and Releash,” a pet expo, brought adoptable pets from all over New Mexico – rescue groups and shelters from far away as Raton, Gallup and Española came with cats and dogs in need of homes, joining local pooches and kitties from Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

In addition to specific canine breeds that were represented, such as basset hounds, Great Danes, greyhounds, Labradors and many more, the two-day expo also brought nonprofits that rescue pet rats, prairie dogs and horses.
